Suzanne Tamim

Suzanne Tamim (Arabic: سوزان تميم‎, September 23, 1977 – July 28, 2008) was a Lebanese singer who rose to fame in the Arab world after having won the top prize in the popular Studio El Fan television show in 1996.

Suzanne Tamim was a Lebanese singer and actress, who rose to fame in the Arab world after having won the top prize in the popular Studio el fan television show in 1996. She was found dead, allegedly murdered in an apartment in Dubai Marina.

Tamim won fame after appearing on a TV talent show in Lebanon in 1996, but her career was marred by stories about a troubled private life. Soon afterward, news about her divorce from her first husband Ali Muzannar flooded the media.

Tamim later married Lebanese impresario and producer Adel Matouk, who became her manager. Once they divorced, Tamim was thought to have fled from her home in Beirut to Egypt after Matouk filed a series of lawsuits against her, including embezzlement, fraud and slander and libel.

After winning a Gold Medal on Studio el fan, she was a hailed both for her beauty and as well as a voice that was equally suited to pop tunes and classical Arabic melodies. Tamim's last album was produced by production giant Alam elPhan in 2002. Her last song, “Lovers,” recorded in 2006, was dedicated to the memory of slain Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

Suzan Tamim was found murdered in her apartment in Dubai, September 28, 2008. She had moved to Dubai from Cairo, following her divorce from her second husband, the Lebanese music producer Adel Matouk.

Police in Dubai have declined to comment on the case apart from to say they are investigating and will make an announcement soon. Media reports say her body was stabbed repeatedly and her face mutilated.

After winning a Gold Medal on the Studio al-Fann programme, she was a hailed both for her beauty and as well as a voice that was equally suited to pop tunes and classical Arabic melodies. Tamim was reported to have fled Lebanon to Egypt some years ago after a number of bitter legal battles with her estranged second husband, music producer Adel Maatouk. Reports say she disappeared from public view in Cairo in 2007 and was thought to be living in Dubai's exclusive Jumeira district.

درست في كلية الصيدلة لكنها لم تكمل بعد أن تقدمت إلى برنامج ستوديو الفن الفني بعام 1996، حيث نالت الميدالية الذهبية عن الفئة التي إشتركت بها.

سبق لها الزواج مرتين، الأولى من "علي مزنر" لكن نطلقا لاحقاً، والثانية من عادل معتوق وهو منظم حفلات لبناني تعرفت عليه عن طريق المخرج سيمون أسمر، إلا إنها طلبت الطلاق، لكنه رفض تطليقها، فإنفصلت عنه وإستقرت في القاهرة حيث منزلها هناك قرب حي المعادي، ونتيجة لرفع معتوق دعاوى قضائية عليها في لبنان طالب لاحقاً نقابة الموسيقيين المصرية بمنعها من ممارسة أي نشاط فني في مصر، بل وبمنع القنوات الفضائية الفنية ومنها روتانا من بث أي أغاني أو كليبات لها

قدمت عدد من الألبومات الفنية الغنائية والأغاني المنفردة، ومسرحية غنائية هي "غادة الكاميليا".

* كما سجلت آخر ألبوماتها الغنائية مع شركة عالم الفن، كما قام المخرج هادي الباجوري بتصوير آخر أغنياتها المصورة فيديو كليب وهي أغنيه "يصعب عليا" في سويسرا. وقد بثت الأغنية على قناة مزيكا الموسيقية وتسببت في مشاكل قضائية بين عادل معتوق من جهة ومحسن جابر وعالم الفن من جهة أخرى
